Fixing Jeans

I have a pair of old jeans which I have had for many years, as they get older I get even more attached to them. As they get older the material has weakened and has ripped at the knees and by the bum. The rips at the knee's fit with the look with the jeans, however the rip at the bum shows more than I care to show to the general public.

Since I have recently joined Pinterest I have spent a lot of time looking at DIY pieces. One was instructions of how to update jeans using lace to cover pockets. I used this idea as a basis to fix my jeans. Using an old lace t-shirt I glued in a piece to fix my jeans.

I cut out a large piece which would cover the rip in my jeans:

I applied a large amount of glue to the jeans and placed the lace over top of it. I used Aleen's Ok to wash it glue:

I left the jeans to dry for 24 hours (as recommended on the pack) and I now have wearable jeans!

Excluded leaving the jeans to dry for 24 hours, I think the whole process took about 10 minutes!
