Finally....Sparkly Shoes

It has taken me a while to write the blog on sparkly shoes, but you know...shit happens.

I wanted to make sparkly shoes rather than just buying my own, its a bit more fun being able to say "I made these", not "they are from New Look". I started off with a pair of black pumps from Primark:

And used the glue and glitter I had previously bought for other projects.

I decided to use gold glitter, which would match the bow on the shoes already, which I was planning to take off. I used the tacky glue, as I could apply it thickly and layer it. I thought about using the jewelry glue as it would be stronger, but I wasn't sure if the material of the shoes would go against that....anyway.

I then penciled an outline of the area I wanted to cover with glitter, and smothered it in glue:
I then coated it with gold glitter. I applied way too much just to ensure that every area would be covered.

For quite a while the glue stayed soft, and when i accidentally knocked it, it would smudge. Once the glue dried and I was able to wipe off the excess glitter.

I covered the glittered area in really strong hairspray, as it should cling all the glitter which might be lose to the shoe and bit more to the glue.

The finished products:
