When it comes to nail varnish and make up in general I am a bit cheap with it. I have a wide selection of nail varnishes but they are all cheap ones, mostly bought on 3 for 2 deals.
A problem I have with nail varnish is keeping it cheap free for more than a big night out or two days, I do not believe the '10 day chip free' on all the bottles.
For Haloween I was determined to have chip free nails all night, and was prepared to spend a little bit extra on a top coat to keep it this way. In preparation I bought Sally Henson base and top coat dual duty nail varnish:
I wasn't going to have time to paint my nails the night before as I had a guest (the bf) staying over and thought it would be rude to have to sit and leave my nails to dry. As it was Halloween I embraced the black nail varnish, which normally lasts about one day chip free. This the nail varnish I used:
The day before I had my hair cut by a close friend who is a trained beautician, she told me that at work she drys her nails by the air con for about 15 minutes. The hairdryer I have has a decent cold setting so I thought I would give that ago, using that to blow cold air onto my nails until my arms got sore was a great idea! The nails stayed chip free for 6 days, and they were a busy six days ( I could have gone the full ten days but a small part chipped off) The only photo I have is around a phone case:
I highly recommend trying Sally Henson dual duty and a hair dryer. Now I feel totally invisible with nail polish I am going to try and reproduce:
Found here, there aren't many tutorials but good ideas.
