Hula Hooping

This is the first of my non-bling blog post. There won't be as many as the bling-posts but I thought it would be fun to add some different posts. It has taken me a little while to figure out how to make new posts appear under new headings, but I have finally done it!! I really could have done with a 'blogger for dummies' book.

Another joy of going home (which is not bling related) is being able to attend a hula hoop class which my sisters helps to run/performs hula hooping at events. When Ellen (my sister) was younger she was  was not allowed to join into a primary school competition of who can hula hoop the longest because everyone knew she would win. Now it seems that Ellen and a hula hoop have become one. She is able to preform tricks and make it do weird things without even thinking about it.

The moves she can do are a difficult to explain, but to name a few;

-she is able to get a hoop from around her leg, up her body and then hula it around her waist, in a professional manner.

-Whilst it is spinning she can lift it away from her body in a very smooth fashion.

With a little practice I am sure she could do anything she wanted with a hoop, which is annoying for me because the be all and end all of my tricks is spinning it around my waist.. Well that was until yesterday, I can now spin it around my elbow, spin it around my knees as well as spinning the hoop in one direction and moving my body in another.

However hula hooping does come with a warning especially if you bruise easily, and as a red-head I can assure you I bruise very easily, and so does my sister. Ellen is quite covered in bruises at the moment as she has been doing a lot of shows. From yesterdays attempts at tricks I have a bruise forming on my forehead, I was trying to spin the hula hoop around my foot whilst laying down. The aim is to be able to move it from your foot to your hand. After a few attempts I was able to get it to spin around my foot with, it span out of control and across the room more times than I was able to control it though. In one of these attempts the hoop fell, and instead of protecting my face or doing anything sensible I screamed and closed my eyes, which meant the hoop dropped, landed on my head and everyone saw because I screamed. Not my finest moment.
