Haloween DIY

Next Saturday a close friend is having a haloween/birthday party and the theme is the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have decided to go as Columbia in the pool scene:

I am trying to do the whole costume on a very low budget. I am wearing a corset I already own, sequin hot pants which I already own, I have bought tights which look like suspenders, I decided against wearing actual suspenders. I have one plain black long glove which I can wear and decided to make my own red sequin glove, with feathers.

I am making this from: an old stocking, thick red sequin trim, double sided carpet tape:

First I had to make a hole for my hand and an extra finger hole. After doing this I measured out lengths of double sided tape and the sequin trim. I wore the glove as I attached the tape and trim so I knew it would fit.

I wanted to make sure the two ends of the trim was at the back at the glove, so any ugly bits could be hidden.

To buy enough trim to cover the whole glove would have been very expensive, so I bought about 1.5m of trim. This was enough to make 7 wraps around the glove at different places, I am being sent some feathers which I can tape on the top. The feathers are being donated from my Mum who is dressing up as a  crow for a Halloween party. So far this is the glove:

The glove is currently around a wine bottle so the tape doesn't go slack over the next week.
