A few days ago I wrote about how a case I have been working on for friend was ruined. After using super glue to fill in the background and leaving it to dry the majority of the case went white and chalky. After trying many different remedies to loosen the super glue or try and chip it off I decided that the only thing left to do was to try and take the whole case apart and start again.
Luckily the clear cases I am using are cheap to get hold off, and I have been able to remove the majority of the gems and have learnt from my mistake. Once the new case has arrived I will start making the whole case again.
From soaking the whole case in warm soapy water I was able to remove all but 25 gems, all of which were glued down using super glue. I saved the template I was using to make the case so can use that again and can try a new technique for making the case.
Disappointing that a case which was very almost finished had to be taken apart and has to be started from scratch, but it is good practice and I have decided this will be the only small gem case I make and will focus on large feature cases.
