A Pledge

After doing some very late research into Nothing New November I have decided to stop shopping for myself for a month. Obviously I can't have a whole month without shopping because in the lead up to Christmas that would be the most awful idea!

Even though I live on a tight budget I am quite good at splashing out and buying myself something new. I am one of those girls who struggles wearing the same outfit twice, this has caused quite a problem for my budget. I can't explain why I have this fear of someone seeing me in the same outfit on a night out or date twice, but it's a serious problem, leading me to have three full double walk in wardrobes of clothes. These wardrobes are full of dresses/playsuits/jumpsuit which have seen the inside of a club/bar/restaurant once or twice.
An example:
Recently I have been re-wearing clothes on a night out. Last Saturday I wore a jumpsuit I have had for over a year and have worn out three times:

worn 15/08/11

                                                          worn 15/12/11
Worn again  17/11/12 (maybe its a time of year thing)

I have a few items of clothing that will repeated but it isn't very frequent. So I am taking the next month to re-wear my clothes, with upcoming Christmas parties and New Years Eve, I am determined not to buy something new.

So I, Georgina C Shaw pledge not to buying anything new for myself in the next month!

I have started well, I have bought myself a dress which I am planning to wear on two events in the same month!! For me, this is quite a big deal, normally I would have bought a dress for each occasion.
The dress I have for these events was very reasonable at £22.50, having it for two occasions makes it £11.25 a wear. *this dress was bought before my pledge*

I will have one last hurrah, and for this I am being very practical and buying some winter boots.
I have had my eyes on these quite a while and now I have had my parking ticket refunded (win) I am going to treat myself! *which will be my last treat*

I will do updates during the next month, which hopefully will be about my ability to not buy anything for myself and the many presents I have bought for my family and friends!
