The Idea

Some of you may be aware that I enjoy a very 'bling' phone case, called the Princess Diamond Rhinestone Phone Case:

For two different phones I have had I kept up appereances by having the same style of phone case. However the one I currently have for my HTC CHA CHA has lost quite a lot of gems and one big flower, it has also got quite dirty and I haven't been successful in cleaning it. So I have made the decision to make my own phone case.

I am going to document the process and maybe turn it into a small buisness if all goes well.

Day one 05/10/2012: *the idea* Today I was broswing Ebay and Amazon to try and find a new phone case, I found a few cases which I considered but all had a few things wrong with them.

Barbie Phone Case : I very much like this phone case however I am 21 and have not played with Babries in years. The last time I did would have been to shave their heads and melt their faces. I have grown up since then and decided that a phone case with Barbie written on it might not give the right impression.

Pretty Girl Couture: With a little more research I found a website which is individual phone cases. I loved this idea even more, they ticked every box, they were colourful, has Swarovski crystals and were so so sparkly!! However they cost $105.00 and I definatly cannot afford this.

More research: This is when I returned to Ebay to look for gems/decorations that I could buy cheapily and make my own designs. From this I found nail art gems, they have a flat back so can easily be applied to nails or in this case a phone case. For a grand total of £2.94 I have bought 3000 rhinestones in 12 different colours and get a free gift of two sheets of other nail decorations. Then spent £2.90 on a hard phone case, the base of this design. Now I have the very begingings of my first phone case.
Over the next few days I will be researching which will be the best type of glue to use. I am thinking super glue, however from gluing my fingers together once I might try something else. I have been recommended a glue gun by a close friend but I need to know what will make the gems stick for the longest and the strongest. Please let me know if you have a preference.
